2025 Champion of Champions Tournament

Important update: 2025’s COC tournament format will be a 2 boat team series.

Guidelines for clubs applying to enter 2025 Champion of Champions Tournament:

  • BBA president and tournament committee will manage the Champion of Champions event.
  • Event is by invitation only / no walk ups. Names from each club that will be competing, and team assignments including team captain must be submitted at least one week before the event to BBA
  • A team counts as up to four anglers and up to two boats. A team cannot fish more than two out of a boat. Teammates are allowed to swap between their team boats throughout the tournament.
  • Anglers from multiple clubs are allowed to form a team with approval from respective club directors and BBA president / tournament committee.
  • Entry Fee: $220 per team (made up of up to four anglers)
      • This includes $20 big fish pot for teams
      • $20 goes to BBA club fund
  • Payout based on $180 per team. 70% first place, 25% second place
      • Payouts will be made to the team captain. 

Tournament committee is made up of BBA members or affiliates as assigned by BBA’s board:

  • BBA tournament committee is responsible for overseeing weigh-in and making any on site decisions needed and overseeing payout

Lake will be selected by BBA:

  • Registration begins 5am
  • Weigh in 3:00pm GA time
  • Trailering is NOT allowed
  • Must wear life jacket when big motor is running and in gear
  • Late Penalty – must be within the no wake area at boat ramp area and not fishing by weigh in time. There will be a ½ pound penalty per minute late.
  • Dead fish penalty of 4oz or.25 on scales per dead fish
  • Spots must be at least 12 inches and large mouths must be at least 12 inches or lake limit in length whichever is greater.
      • Any short fish weighed in will result in both the short fish and the largest fish to be thrown out.
  • You may only have a maximum of five fish in your live well when arriving to weigh-in inside the weigh-in area’s no wake zone and ramp area. Violation penalty is a dead fish penalty. Culling with your other team boat in the weigh-in area is allowed.
  • Each team captain will weigh in their team’s five biggest fish.
  • You must check in before tournament begins to be enrolled in the tournament and pay your entry fee.
      • During this time your live wells will be checked and tagged
  • Registration one hour before safe light
  • Launch safe light
  • Anglers fishing in this Champion of Champions can fish in other tournaments on the same day.
  • BBA president and/or tournament committee have sole discretion on decisions at scales, disqualifications, rule interpretations, or any matter related to this event.

Agenda

  1. {5:00am EST – 6:45am} Registration, live well check, and drawing of random boat number
  2. {15 minutes before safe light} Prayer followed by partial review of tournament rules over megaphone
  3. {5 minutes before safe light} Boats will prepare to launch
  4. {safe light} Boats launched in fleets of five
  5. {3:00pm} Weigh-in
